The Garden Museum
Experiential Design
Brief: Produce a piece of experiential design for a chosen museum in London.

Problem:
The problem with the Garden Museum is that there is a lack of interactive features targeted at children. Therefore the museum has not been effectively enticing and engaging the target market of children and families.
Insight:
The Garden Museum is located in St Mary- at-Lambeth Church, London. The museum displays a collection of artefacts related to the design and history of British Gardens such as paintings, illustrations and tools. There are two gardens, the front garden which is found at the museum entrance, and the courtyard garden which is found inside the museum. The Garden Museum also hosts exhibitions, events, workshops, community projects, lectures and more.
The Drawing Station:
After entering the Garden Museum and buying tickets the children and their parents will make their way to the drawing station. At the drawing station, there will be information cards about different British plants. These will include images and some information about the plants. The information cards will help give the children inspiration on what they can draw. After completing their drawings a member of staff will collect and scan the drawings. The children and parents will then be told to explore the museum and enter the pop-up at the end of their visit.
Solution:
Garden Museum & You is an interactive experience for children and families. Children will have the opportunity to enter a world created by them as their drawings come to life. The experience will start at the drawing station where the children will select a plant to draw from the information cards. The children and their parents will then explore around the museum. Finally, they will enter the pop-up where the children will be able to see their drawings animated. This experience will be engaging and therefore will attract more children and families to the Garden Museum.
The Experience:
After the children complete their drawings and explore around the museum they will have the opportunity to enter the pop-up. Inside the pop-up, the children will be able to see their drawings come to life on a large scale. There will also be an opportunity for parents to take photos of their children with their large-scale drawings.
